Y ARA
One thing I'm always curious about is how it feels to have somebody in your life who acknowledges, cares, and loves you genuinely. It's hard to find your "person" particularly after being in various failed relationships and going on endless, fruitless dates, it's not difficult to get baffled with the state of one's romantic life. Musical duo Jhay Ehidio and Gillian Aquino, known together as Y ARA released their latest single titled "Reversed Name" under Warner Music Philippines. The track portrays a story of having someone you can always count on in life. It’s about finding a person who impacts your life in a positive and significant way paired perfectly with an electro-pop feel.
Y ARA's early releases were a mix of Synthpop, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, and Folk, and have since been recognized for their warm and nostalgic vibe. The duo started collaborating six years ago and has released their first official single just two years ago. Now, after the long wait, they are back with the official version of the song they made for their friend 10 years ago. With Jhay Ehidio who produced the song, they have retained some of the elements that were used in their previous releases, still having the warm pads and acoustic guitars. But this time around, making their sound bigger, crisper drum sounds incorporating some pitched-up vocals for the first time and more vocal layers too as new elements to their sound.
Looking up to several artists like LANY, Clairo, No Rome, Kehlani, and Troye Sivan, Y ARA also takes inspiration from their family and friends who contribute a great impact to the music they create. One of the early notable achievements that they had in their career was when their first official track called “Be The One” which has entered the Spotify Viral Charts in Taiwan as well as several iTunes charts across Southeast Asia. They have been a part of last year’s lineup of artists for Sonik Philippines. And the one thing that they will never forget was when Yuna, a former member of the K-Pop girl group AOA, featured them in her Instagram story, which was a great moment for them and their music and to see how their music has traveled and sought its place in the music industry.
The search for a soulmate is intense work, and it’s hard not to give up hope sometimes. Finding someone might be a tough job, but with time, love will eventually find you. Love can never be just about a significant other, having someone that loves you, cares for you, and encourage you can also be our family and dear friends.
"Everything big starts with small steps. So just do it. Don’t sleep on it and just keep going."
Make sure to check out Y ARA and give their latest single "Reversed Name" a listen! It's out now on all streaming platforms.
