Romaliza
One of the things I loved when I was starting Beat This Philippines back in the day, was when I got to discover new music, especially when the artist has a track that hits hard and eventually becomes a favorite of mine where I put it on repeat and add it to my playlist. This brings me to Romaliza Rizalado also known as her artist name Romaliza — a talented Filipina-American artist we discovered who delves into alternative RnB and pop. “Body to Body”, her latest release, a track which enjoyed 4 weeks in The Chosen Dozen, our weekly playlist on Spotify where we highlight tracks that deserve to be heard.
This is such a beautiful track, a highlight of sexy feel-good music delivered in the smoothest vocal tone from this Long Beach California artist. “Body to Body” is a song all about the feeling you get from the first moment you see a person and you already feel an instant connection. The process of love blooming from start to finish, taking risks that create cravings within your whole body for that special someone, Romaliza describes.
Produced by fellow Filipino-American Ronald Dominic — RD for short, she got in the booth with RD and the song was created organically with a topic in mind adding a personal touch of experience from Romaliza. This magic combination contributed to a song that captures old-school RnB and trap soul combined. Ronald Dominic did a perfect job of mixing, engineering, and mastering the perfect hit "Body to Body".
Romaliza has been in the music scene her whole life but only started working professionally in 2017 with her first single “For Us to Be” and releasing her five-song EP Romatherapy in 2018. Most notable for the track “Awake” which landed on Dash Radio Moonlight Station and Thailand's Spotify Editorial Playlist. A couple more singles later, she started 2021 with “Body to Body”, a soulful and seductive song that, in my book, all of you reading now should take time to listen to. If you are into Jhene Aiko, H.E.R., Mariah Carey, to name a few, this would be right up your lane. These artists are just a few of her inspirations in music.
“I want to let everyone know that it’s ok to feel every part of yourself through your feelings no matter how sad or happy you are. You’re not alone with situations that may be hard with love or simply just be happy about life and what you have in it. My music is therapeutic for the ears and hearts so if you’ll listen to any of my songs with eyes closed and no distractions, you’ll know exactly how I felt and how it happened.”Romaliza says when asked about her artistry.
Romaliza is set to release a music video for “Body to Body” and we will see more of her as she has new projects coming up with producers and more international opportunities. So, make sure to follow her on all her socials and listen to her music on all streaming platforms.
