Taking us back to the past, retro glam-pop sister duo Gabriella and Chi Gibbs together known as GIBBS are creating huge waves in the music industry as they release their first single "Angel Baby" in collaboration with Moophs under their new family, Tarsier Records. Listening to the track was just a whole other unworldly experience, I was completely in awe and felt as if I was transported back into a retro past with some fusion fantasy. GIBBS shared that the creation of "Angel Baby" is a story of a heroine fighting her demons. The pop track is inspired by '80s rock and James Bond movie soundtracks. "Angel Baby is a mix of everything we were obsessed with in quarantine. We were obsessed with a horror-action show called Love Craft Country. Since we were cooped up at home for months we created a fantasy world with Y2K, James Bond, and horror themes in mind. Basically, it’s a heroine’s story fighting her demons. We also went with this theme with the visuals for the music video."
GIBBS is trail-blazing the music industry with a sound and aesthetic that is surely making a comeback in mainstream pop music today.
