It's always been hard to stand out in the sea of R&B artists who come out with their own flavor and good vocals to the tracks they put out—hailing from the Netherlands and a frequent guest here on our channel, Filipina-Dutch R&B singer-songwriter Cyra Gwynth with her track “ON MY MIND” which is part of her 8-track EP called CONSCIOUS featuring spacey and sultry vocals which highlight this emerging Filipina global talent!
“ON MY MIND” is the 2nd track from the 8-track EP which can only be described as a song that is perfect for those bedroom sounds that people call “baby-making music”. As Cyra Gwynth explains to us, it’s an invitation for the listeners to dive into their minds and understand what’s important to them, “If you had 24 hours to live, what would you spend your time on?”, do you give it all for love for one person?
The production is handled by her frequent collaborator, Dutch producer Lamsi who has worked with Cyra Gwynth on multiple tracks previously. “ON MY MIND” features reserve pads and synthesizers layered over drums that give its R&B aura. They met back in 2018 and have been working together ever since, their first release together was “Bad Habit” back in 2019, Cyra Gwynth mentions that they have worked on multiple tracks already but all their releases were working towards the release of the CONSCIOUS EP.

Cyra Gwynth is no stranger to Beat This Philippines, she has been featured multiple times on our weekly playlist on Spotify called The Chozen Dozen. She mentions how her love for singing really came from her roots in the Filipino culture along with her love for dancing, it’s crazy to her that ever since she started pushing her tracks through the Philippines she has received much love from the team at Spotify Asia. Cyra Gwynth has also seen nods from publications in Amsterdam the likes of VICE, Bruzz and she has been gaining listeners from both countries already standing atop 26K monthly listeners at the point in time of this write-up.
Filipino talent is not only gaining momentum here in the Philippines but also abroad, Cyra Gwynth is surely one of the artists from the Filipino global scene we have had our eyes on for quite some time already. After the release of this EP, she plans to do some shows around Belgium, the Netherlands, and other countries moreover we hope to see her here soon in the Philippines as well.
