Episode 68 - J Matty
Welcome back to another episode of The Chosen Dozen, your one stop shop for all the best in Global Pinoy Music!
This week, we are celebrating Filipino-American, Washington DC based artist, J Matty, who we discovered through another artist we’ve featured in the past, Tina Carzon.
They both belong to a band called The Wrizzards, and when we deep dived into that collective, and found J Matty, we had to feature one of his recent singles on the show. The track in question has R&B production infused with a little flair of Jersey Club music, and the song highlights the complexities of today’s dating scene.
Pulling from other influences such as Pop and Hip-Hop, and with such relatable lyrics, it makes sense why we are playing it for a fourth week on the show - it has been an absolute hit with the community and we are super excited to be presenting J Matty as this week’s Chosen One artist.
Also on this weeks show, we will be introducing new tracks from Raquel Lily (Miami, USA),
Kio Priest (Manila, PH), Jon Guelas (UK/PH) and Riddo (Syndey, AUS), that’s four brand new entries from four different parts of the world, all of which are proudly Filipino made!
