ANDRE MOLINA'S "HARDWIRE" - FIRST LISTEN!
Life often throws us a curveball every now and then - as a result, we are left somewhat paralyzed. Long after, we’re still left with scars and guess what, we all feel alone while dealing with it: the existential crisis, depression, lack of self-esteem; all of it. And this is what Filipino born - New Jersey based singer/songwriter, André Molina describes in his latest offering, HARDWIRE.
A little background about André Molina - he is a singer/songwriter who we've been supporting here at Beat This Philippines over the last 2-3 years, and for good reason!
He's well versed in producing, song-writing and recording, and draws inspiration from a diverse palette of musical genres such as pop and alternative rock. A little fun fact as well, André’s music is further enriched through his love for anime, which you might be able to catch glimpses of throughout his artistry.
Back to the matter at hand, HARDWIRE is delivered via the means of an energetic alternative rock song, with a catchy distorted chorus to boot (following past releases such as JEALOUS, Euphoria, and I NEED U!). It deep dives into the struggle of someone going through depression, and the stress brought by mental health - relatable right?
Lyrics from the song, “I woke up bright and early just to stay in bed” depicts how struggling with mental health can leave you demotivated, even if you’ve woken up early, or haven’t even slept. André re-iterates his position later saying “I could really use a boost of serotonin.” - suggesting the need of remedy.
The remedy for us, the listener, is perhaps HARDWIRE - Which is like a hand to hold, telling you that you’re not alone in this struggle. Remember,
HARDWIRE is now out on all streaming platforms for you to enjoy and be sure to check into The Chosen Dozen on later episodes to check it out as well!
