WLFTOWN DROPS LATEST SINGLE "IVORY"

We always long for that love that got away. A love that slipped through our fingers all because we were too proud or drowned in our personal issues, that now, we just end up with wishful thinking’s and a lot of what-ifs; reminiscing about the past and blaming ourselves for our shortcomings. We all go through all that self-reflection, and that’s where our Ilocos-born Filipino-American artist based in Arizona, USA, WLFTOWN takes us with his new single, Ivory.

The song’s lyrics start off with “I don’t wanna wake up, cause I miss you when I wake up” which literally portrays the artist’s longing for his ex-girlfriend. It speaks of how he doesn’t want to wake up to the reality that his partner’s gone and he misses her so.

Then it moves to the second line, where he says “wanna see your face I, I can’t even say what’s up” indicating that things did end badly between both of them. The “ivories” in the song refer to the piano keys, suggesting emotional outbursts or a time of reflection.

Overall, the song’s lyrics depict longing, sadness, and acceptance. The artist acknowledges their mistakes, the hurt they’ve caused, and regret and love they still feel. And yet the acceptance that they should both move on or let go because of how toxic the relationship has become.

Despite being released a couple weeks ago, Ivory has made its way to the hearts of women and men out there who need this affirmation to move on from their past. So if you want to listen to it, you can visit our artist’s Spotify or Youtube page.

Going back, WLFTOWN’s lyrics to Ivory is a cry to anyone experiencing pain, mix of emotions due to how their personal issues are affecting their relationship. It teaches us that communication is key to expressing our problems, or it will be too late and the pain of regret will eat us up. And lastly, the songs suggest giving both parties closure and a sense of understanding of what went wrong, so they can let go and move on.
